Jaegar is a workaholic who watches all nine soaps when working at home. She's been watching soaps since the late 1970s, and some of her earliest memories from soaps involve the introduction of Danny Romalotti onto Y&R way back when. She was an on-again, off-again viewer of soaps until the early 1990s, when she became an ardent fan. She picked up on GL and GH again in the summer of 2005 after long hiatuses and enjoys being able to hop from one show to another to enjoy all the vastly different storylines out there.
OUTSTANDING DRAMA SERIES
Don't you just hate it when all the picks have a
wonderful reason for being on the list? It makes it
hard to narrow down a choice. While the standout
episode for me (of the choices provided) was Todd's
execution, mimicking a crucifiction may not score
in the long run. Based simply on the choices and
episodes provided, my nod this year has to go to
(Although my first impulse was B&B.
OUTSTANDING LEAD ACTOR
Christian LeBlanc. What can I say, he's always the
first choice on my list. All five actors turned in
wonderful performances this year, and my second
up would have been Geary, but the scenes submitted
LeBlanc showed why a character who started out as a
stalker and a would-be (or a was-he?) rapist turned
into a fan favorite.
OUTSTANDING LEAD ACTRESS
I'll go with Michelle Stafford here (Maura West was
runner-up). Again, five great entries, but not
necessarily five great episode choices. There were
some much more powerful scenes that could have been
used for the actresses involved. Stafford has had a
wild ride this year as Phyllis though -- well
deserving of some recognition.
OUTSTANDING SUPPORTING ACTOR
After the whole storyline with Maddie's rape, Trent
Dawson got my nod. He's always delivered in his
scenes, and manages to steal the screen every time.
Rikaart is equally deserving (they all are), but
Dawson used some stronger stuff in his submission.
Then again, I was wrong when I chose Dawson last
My theory? I'll pick Trent Dawson every year until
OUTSTANDING SUPPORTING ACTRESS
Lesli Kay or Heather Tom. Kay or Tom. Hmm. Francis
also a great choice, but may be too obvious. Tom's
episode choices aren't my favorites for her though
which puts me toward Lesli Kay. Considering her
character was supposed to die except that the fans
loved her ... Lesli Kay is going to be my pick this
OUTSTANDING YOUNGER ACTOR
This came down to three of the choices for me, but
Hansis ultimately got my nod based on his
The character of Luke has gone through so much on
show, and Hansis bravely stepped up to the
and knocked it out of the park. (Admittedly, I lean
towards Pelphrey since he got me back into GL, but
Hansis just blew me away.)
OUTSTANDING YOUNGER ACTRESS
Again, a tough one. I've no idea what they base
picks on, but I was stuck between Julie Marie
and Alexandra Chando. Although Chando's submissions
were the most 'real life' of the 'reel life'
Berman took a storyline that could have destroyed
character and made it her own. So this year, Berman
gets my pick.
OUTSTANDING WRITING IN A DRAMA SERIES
Predictions are still pending.
