Are more Castillos headed to AMC?

Are there new faces headed to Pine Valley. It's possible, according to a setside source. All My Children is reportedly interested in adding more Latino characters, possibly relatives of newcomer Griffin Castillo.

It's only been about two weeks since Jordi Vilasuso (Griffin Castillo) made his first appearance on All My Children, but it appears that the show is already moving forward with plans to expand the Castillo family.

Citing a show source, Soap Opera Digest reports that All My Children executives have made it a "big priority" to boost the show's Latino presence.

At one time, All My Children featured an entire Latino family -- the Santoses -- but, not counting Mateo's brief appearance back in January, it's been several years since anyone has seen or even mentioned Maria, Rosa, Isabella, or Anita. The show killed off two other members of the Santos family, Hector and Julia.

It is believed that Vilasuso's character could easily pave the way for other characters of Hispanic heritage -- particularly Griffin's relatives -- to find their way to Pine Valley.

In officially welcoming the Emmy-winning Vilasuso to AMC, executive producer Julie Hanan Carruthers made specific mention of saying that the show was proud to be "introducing a new character on our canvas with Mexican heritage."

There's no immediate timeframe for the rumored cast additions, but they are not expected before the February Sweeps period.
