Music plays a pivotal, if often overlooked, part in soap opera storytelling. From the menacing tones that set the stage for the return of a diabolical character to the sweeping swell of strings when a favorite couple kisses, one could argue that the soap opera score is a main character in its own right.
The Bold and the Beautiful has launched "Music from the Series, Volume One," a collection of 35 B&B scores originally composed and scored by B&B's Emmy-winning composer John Nordstrom. Available now on Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon Music, and all streaming music platforms, the album consists of 35 recognizable and moving theme songs.
"I am pleased to share some of our favorite music from The Bold and the Beautiful," said Nordstrom. "These scores have impacted our characters on our screens and in our lives." Executive Producer and Head Writer Bradley P. Bell continues, "This extraordinary album encompasses love, passion, heartache, suspense, and joy. John's enormous musical talent connects us beautifully to all of these emotions. We are pleased to offer it to our loyal viewers."
Tracks include Figure Eight, Spencer Tension, Ambient Love Theme, Mulholland Drive, Baby Beth & Hope, Playing for Keeps, Weight of the World, Memories, Hope Diamond, Malibu Sunset, Beach Run, Endless Love Medley, Storylines, Carter & Quinn Affair, Breaking Darkness, Hope and Wyatt No More, Taking a Breath, Forrester Secrets, Forever Gone, They Took Beth, Lost Love, Family Bond, Love Me Again, Liam and Hope Forever, Dark Obsession, On the Beach, Confession, Brooke and Bill in Dubai, Dubai Helicopter Fall, Australia Wedding, Forrester Intrigue, Australian Shores, Sheila Returns, Ghosting, and Steffy's Grief.
The music even appears on popular social media platforms, so now your Instagram stories, TikTok videos, and Snap Chat snaps can all be scored by B&B themes.
John Nordstrom has been The Bold and the Beautiful's music composer since 2013 and received an Emmy for his work on the show in 2015 and 2018, with two additional nominations in 2016 and 2017.
