Get ready for cardinal cat fights and badass brawls, because The Young and the Restless is bringing fans an entire week of iconic rivalries via throwback episodes, some of which highlight legendary grudges dating back to 1993.

Soap operas may be famous for their love scenes, but daytime fans know that the relationships that really sizzle on-screen are the complicated connections between rivals. So, viewers better get ready for some serious burns, because The Young and the Restless is dedicating a full week's worth of episodes to some of Genoa City's most notorious nemeses.

The devilish fun features some episodes that haven't been seen in nearly two decades!

In an episode that originally aired on June 30, 1998, Jill's (Jess Walton) search for the truth leads to an epic confrontation with Katherine (Jeanne Cooper). Meanwhile, Sharon (Sharon Case) worries about Grace's influence on Nick (Joshua Morrow), and Michael (Christian Le Blanc) causes trouble for Victor (Eric Braeden) and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott).

Meanwhile, Ashley (Eileen Davidson) is caught in the crossfire of the Newman and Abbott rivalry, and Christine (Lauralee Bell) and Paul (Doug Davidson) prepare for parenthood. The episode originally aired on June 21, 1999.

Friday, May 15
Lily (Christel Khalil) gives Hilary (Mishael Morgan) a rude awakening in an episode that originally aired on May 22, 2014, while Sharon (Case) struggles with Mariah's (Camryn Grimes) presence in Genoa City, and Nikki (Thomas Scott) and Paul (Davidson) are reminded of their past with Ian Ward (Ray Wise).

As Soap Central previously reported, The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful have been airing classic episodes due to the coronavirus pandemic. Because both shows have aired the last of their new, pre-COVID-19-filmed episodes, they have been airing throwback theme weeks filled with long-lost cherished characters, epic adventures, and classic moments.

Y&R's first theme week kicked off on Monday, April 27, and was dedicated to iconic Genoa City matriarch Katherine Chancellor (played by the late Jeanne Cooper). Its second theme week kicked off on Monday, May 4, and was dedicated to Victor and Nikki's love story.

Soap Central will be providing recaps for all of the classic episodes that aired before the Internet Age, and you can read them in our Daily Recaps Archives. That's also the place to check out recaps for any soap opera episode that's aired between 1996 and the present day.
